Music for the Thinking Ear Combined with Extraordinary Architecture and Acoustics.

At the Pierre Boulez Saal, our goal is to inspire you with exciting music of different styles, eras, and genres, from solo pieces to large ensemble works. Our programs present the classic and romantic repertoire side by side with classical modernism and music of our time, including world premieres, all of which are equally important to us. This philosophy finds its ideal expression in the concerts of the Boulez Ensemble, which was founded by Daniel Barenboim.

Other important highlights include Arab and Persian music, jazz, improvisation, and lecture concerts. We also present talks, readings, and discussions in close cooperation with the Barenboim-Said Akademie, which is housed in the same building. Regardless of where the musical journey might take us: curiosity and the joy of discovery are at the core of everything we do.

• Initiated by Daniel Barenboim, the Pierre Boulez Saal was designed by architect Frank Gehry and acoustician Yasuhisa Toyota and opened in March 2017.

• General Management: Ole Bækhøj (Intendant, Pierre Boulez Saal), Dr. Carsten Siebert (Chancellor and CEO, Barenboim-Said Akademie)

• Seating capacity: up to 650, depending on the configuration of the hall

• Dress code: from casual to elegant, anything is welcome

• Catering: Our partner Casalot serves beverages and small dishes of Arabic cuisine before and after concerts as well as during intermission.
